Keeping Your Cake Fresh and Photo-Ready
Our cakes are baked the morning you get them, with no preservatives, so a little care keeps them at their best from the counter to the candles. Here is how we would treat one at home.
Refrigerate fresh cream and cheesecakes
Our cakes and cheesecakes are made with fresh cream and dairy, so they belong in the fridge, not on a warm counter, especially through a Haryana summer. Keep the cake in its box to shield it from fridge odours and from drying out, and give it space so nothing rests on the design.
As a rule of thumb, enjoy a fresh cream cake within two to three days for the best taste and texture. It stays safe a little longer refrigerated, but a preservative-free cake is always at its finest close to the day it was baked.
Take it out before you serve it
Cold mutes both flavour and softness. Move the cake from the fridge to a cool spot about fifteen to twenty minutes before serving, so the sponge relaxes and the cream softens to the texture it had at the shop. In peak summer, keep that window shorter and out of direct sun.
If you are travelling with the cake, keep it flat and low in the vehicle, out of the footwell heat, and refrigerate it as soon as you arrive.
How to cut a clean slice
Use a long, thin knife. Dip it in hot water, wipe it dry, then cut, and repeat the dip-and-wipe between slices. A warm, clean blade glides through cream and sponge instead of dragging, which keeps the first slice as tidy as the last, worth doing when there is a camera at the table.
For a round cake serving a crowd, cutting concentric rings rather than wedges gives more, evener portions from the same cake.
A note on our eggless bakes
Everything we make is 100% vegetarian and eggless, but the storage rules are the same as any fresh-cream cake: keep it cold, keep it boxed, and serve it slightly cool rather than fridge-cold. If you have leftover slices, an airtight container in the fridge keeps them best.
If anything about your cake is not right, tell us the same day on WhatsApp or by phone and we will put it right. We have baked for Rewari since 1992 and we would rather fix a problem than have you settle for one.
