Which Cake Flavour Should You Actually Order?

Seventeen flavours is a lot of menu. After three decades of watching what Rewari orders — and reorders — here is our honest guide to choosing.

If you want the safe crowd-pleaser

Our two bestsellers, year after year, are Red Velvet and Truffle. Red Velvet is a deep crimson cocoa sponge with smooth cream-cheese-style frosting, baked fully eggless without losing the velvet crumb. Truffle is the chocolate lover’s default: dark chocolate sponge soaked and coated in glossy ganache — rich, not cloying.

The timeless third option is Black Forest: chocolate sponge, whipped cream, chocolate shavings and cherries, baked essentially unchanged here for three decades.

For children’s birthdays

Rainbow is ordered for the reveal — six coloured sponge layers under white frosting, so the first cut gets a gasp at every birthday table. Kit Kat, walled with chocolate fingers, is the cake children point at through the counter glass, and Oreo delivers cookies-and-cream in cake form. Strawberry is the gentle option that children reliably finish before the adults reach the table.

For engagements and anniversaries

Rasmalai cake is our fusion signature: saffron-and-cardamom flavoured cream layered with soft sponge, inspired by the north-Indian sweet. It is the first choice for engagements and anniversaries, and carries decorated designs beautifully.

For serious chocolate people

In rising order of intensity: Chocchip for chocolate in every bite, Truffle for the classic ganache experience, Chocolate Mousse for something airier, and Chocolate Heaven — layers of dark sponge, chocolate cream and ganache — for tables where “too much chocolate” is not a concept.

The fruit and fresh side

Pineapple is the classic Indian celebration cake most of Rewari grew up cutting at birthdays. Blueberry swirls a tangy compote through fresh cream — the tartness keeps it from being too sweet, which is why adults order it for themselves. Fruit Cake tops cream and vanilla sponge with whatever is actually good in the market that week.

Still undecided? Try a slice first

Every flavour on the cake menu is also baked as a single pastry slice, from ₹40 to ₹100. Trying the flavour as a slice this week before committing to two kilograms of it for a party is the honest way to choose — and our cheesecakes work the same way, with slices from ₹120.
